NYC and 30th Birthday

The kids and I made it safely back to NYC on Tuesday morning. We took the night flight, so we left UT at 11:50 pm and arrived in NYC about 6 in the morning. Miah slept for about 3 hours on the plane, but Isaac slept only about 45 minutes. Luckily, he wasn't really whiney. He just wanted to play with the buttons, eat snacks, and move the visor of the window up and down. The kids were so excited to be with JD again. They have been clinging to him and he has to everything for them if he is home. He took off Tuesday and Wednesday to spend some time with us. It was wonderful to have our family be together again.

The Donegans have been so kind and wonderful to us. Martha and Dennis moved out of their big room to let us stay in there. The plan was for Miah and Lilly to share a room, but Miah has yet to spend a night in there. I think she is still a little hesitant to let her Daddy out her sight. The basement floor is hopefully going to get started this week, so maybe we can move downstairs in a week and half or two. Then we will have the downstairs as our space and can give them their bedroom back. The Donegans really are amazing people and we are so grateful to have them in our lives.

Yesterday, was my 30th birthday. I'm not sure that I was ready for that to happen. We had a friend from JD's work watch the kids and went and spent the night at theTarrytown House and Estate (click on the link if you would like to see some pictures). We had a lovely room that looked over the pool. The place was AMAZING! The estate included 3 mansions; two built in the 1800's and one in the early 1900's. It was so nice to spend some alone time with JD. It helped ease the pain of being 30, except that I have a horrible cold. We splurged by ordering room service for dinner and breakfast was included in our stay.
