one more full day in NY

Since this day has started, we only have one more full day in NY. Sunday night Miah said she wasn't feeling well, so we put the kids to bed early. She woke up with a fever. So much for meeting our friends at the park for a final farewell. She laid in my bed and watched cartoons most of the morning and said she felt better. We dropped by two families to say goodbye. I'm sad to say goodbye to some of the families that we have come to love in NY, but I know somehow we will see them again.

JD's Dad arrives in the morning. We are hoping to go to the Bronx Zoo, weather and fever permitting. Then we are off on Thursday morning.

I don't know if I will be able to post again before we leave. I hope and pray that everything goes smoothly on our drive across country!

See a lot of you soon!

Last weekend in NY

So it is the kids and my last weekend in NY. I still don't think it has really sunk in yet. We had anticipated doing a few fun last minute things like the fireworks at coney island and the beach, but again it is going to RAIN. GRRR, this rain has spoiled many plans this month. Oh well.

We did make it to the beach with our friends on Thursday. It was good to see them. I got really sunburned on my back though, so I have been uncomfortable since. I'm just glad the kids didn't get burned other than Miah got a little on her face. I forgot our camera, so no pictures.

I'll post more later.

I'm B...O...R...E...D

So JD still isn't on his way home yet and it is 11:45 pm. He has worked 17 hours so far. He worked a little more than 14 hours yesterday. YUCKY for him to be away from home so much, especially when it is our last week in NY. BUT the paycheck will be nice and help us be able to move.

It has been rainy still. On the weather tonight they said there has only been one 24 hour period that was clear the whole month! That is pretty crazy.

Still waiting to hear about anything. I've applied to 5 more jobs for JD in Utah the last few days. Hopefully something will pan out and he can QUIT soon! We are still waiting to hear from the apartment job, UVU, a possible full-time job for me, the warehouse job for JD that the guy keeps calling him about and many more applications that we have put out. I'm really TIRED of WAITING for everything right now. It will be good to get something accomplished when we get to Utah.

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!!

I was just watching the weather and they said this is the 6th wettest June ever. Out of the last 21 days, 17 of them have had rain. Guess what the forecast is for? RAIN for everyday this week! Yuck. Makes it hard for us to do the few things we wanted to do these last few days in NY! We had hoped to have some friends over to go to the beach and wanted to go to Coney Island for fireworks on Friday. Neither of those will be very fun in the rain.

The other thing that makes the rain harder to accept is that JD has inventory this week, so he is going to be BUSY! He doesn't know that he will be home until late everyday night. He thinks that he may even have to work like 16 hours on Wednesday. It doesn't make it possible for us to borrow the car so we can go do anything.

Happy Father's Day

JD - Happy Father's Day!

Isaac is riding a bike

Isaac got up on Miah's bike this week and took off. He rides just as good as Miah even though he has never tried before!

Bubbles

My kids are loving bubbles right now. Here are some fun pictures with them blowing bubbles.

NO news yet . . .exactly

So some weird things have been happening the past few days. We hadn't heard back from the managing apartment place for weeks, so we went on with other plans. She emailed us back on Friday to see what our thought were about the possibility of us managing an apartment complex of 20 in Clearfield. I was a little hesitant at first, but one sleepless morning I got looking into a little more and feel much better about it. The elementary school is literally right behind the apartments. One the other side there are 3 houses, then a PARK! Both of those sound nice to have that close! The only thing I worry a little about is that it is right across the street from Clearfield High.
Then this morning JD received a call from the guy he was suppose to meet while in Utah. He told JD things had been going really SLOW, but they wondered if JD would still be interested in the position! Of course he IS!
So slowly things are advancing . . .I guess. We still don't KNOW anything for sure, but we are hopeful. It would be SO NICE to have a FREE apartment and have JD get a job that was a RAISE! So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that things will work out!

On Friday Dennis came down to get the kids to show them the dump trucks and other vehicles that were in front of the house to pave a new road. They were excited and stayed out forever. Isaac wouldn't come in to get dressed and Miah eventually did. They even ate their lunch outside, so they wouldn't miss any of the action.

Riding the carosaul at the mall. I have been so out of it that I forgot to pick up the kids' pictures on Monday. I remembered on Friday evening, so we decided to go and get them on Saturday for something to do since it was suppose to rain . . .again. I also wanted to look and see if there were any good sales on some school clothes for Miah. We got a couple of things, but the BEST find was some really cute, black leather boots at Children's Place for Isaac. They were 99 cents!

Lily, Miah and Isaac dressing up.

Applying for jobs, packing, figure out what we are going to do, sharing time and primary lesson all have kept me BUSY this past week! The plan is still to drive home over the July 4th weekend. I'll keep everyone posted on any development as we find out more!

Yeah! New Shoes!

If you know me well, you know that I LOVE SHOES! Since being married my shoe purchasing has been DRASTICALLY reduced! I could count on my hands the new pairs I have bought. Since moving to NY I have bought two pairs of shoes in the almost 4 years! One was a pair of sketchers while in Utah that I got on clearance and the other was some flip-flops last month. My last pair that I bought before getting married finally got a hole all the way to the bottom. The only other pair that I have had was when JD surprised me and bought me them after going back to NYC after me telling him of the shoes that I had found and fell in love with.

Anyway, after deciding to move to Utah I realized I really didn't have any cute shoes to wear since the three pair that I have bought in the last 5 years all would not be suitable for Utah. While going through my favorite blogs one mentioned a great shoe sale, so I thought that I would just look, but I found two pairs of Simple Shoes that I really liked and both were under $10!! I got both of them for $19.90 and the regular cost would have been $120, plus I didn't even have to pay shipping. I was excited and still am especially since they fit!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our wedding anniversary. I can' believe it has been 8years. It has went so fast! We are going to be able to go to dinner and a movie tonight.

Happy Anniversary JD! I love you so much and am so thankful that you are my husband!

Saturday at the Beach

Playing in the sand

Miah

JD, Isaac and Miah at the Rockaway Beach

Isaac, with sand on half of his face. He was COVERED!

So, we have had a relaxing day. We slept until noon (except JD got up to give the kids cereal and start a movie). Then we got ready to go to the Rockaway Beach, which is less than two blocks away. We thought we had better take advantage of it in the little time we have left to visit the Atlantic. Now he is grabbing some chinese takeout and a slice from Beach 129 Street. It is so nice to have that only 2 streets away, but it is very tempting especially the Pastry Shop.

Moving to Utah!

So, JD and I have been talking about what to do and we decided that the kids and I are going to move back to Utah without him for now. We are thinking of no later than July 4, so I can get Miah registered for school.
We are still waiting to hear about the managing apartments. It is so hard to wait and wait and wait. I just want to have everything figured out.
If the apartment manager thing doesn't work out, then we are going to stay in JD's parents basement. I'm also going to work part time for my sister. Thanks Michelle! I will keep looking for a job for JD and possible for me.
That is where we are at for now!

what's going on?

Well, we are not sure what is going on. I just really feel this pit in my stomach that we have to get things moving! I realized today that if we move into a school area that is year round, then Miah could be starting school next month . . .NEXT MONTH! That has me really freaked out!

We are still waiting to hear about several jobs that we have put in for. I also applied to two more jobs in the Salt Lake area for JD and they are with the army. He does not have to join, he would just be a civilian worked. One was for a painter, so maybe his MFA would help . . . haha.

We did not do anything over the weekend because we have been kind of sick, plus JD had to finish a drawing. He was asked by our district to draw the mission home for the mission president who will be leaving soon (see photo above). He got it done right before. Nothing like procrastinating! In fact I think we are the King and Queen of Procrastinating!
