NY Parent Visit

Dad and Mom in Times Square

JD and I at Chicago

My parents arrived last night. It has been since August since we have seen them. It has been nice to have them here . . . so far!

Today we went to NYC to see Chicago on Broadway. Jan from The Office was Roxie Hart. I just kept thinking in my head. . . Jan is right there. Anyway, the show was good.

We also hit our traditional NYC Pizza place. . . John's Pizzeria on 44 st! Yummy! They have great garlic bread with cheese, though they are not Fat Sticks with Cheese.

Tomorrow, my Mom and I are going shopping. Tomorrow night we are going to dinner with the Donegans. Saturday we are going to take the kids to the city. I'm not sure what we are going to do yet. It is suppose to be COLD! Then they leave on Sunday to go meet Greg in Florida.

(No need to re-enter your contact info each time you shop. Plus you will be able to look up all of the items you have previously ordered.) Because you need to set up your account the first time you shop, I suggest going to my site before Monday and setting up an account so that it is all ready for you when you hop on at 8am Monday morning. (This way you won't waste any valuable time setting up your account on Monday.)

Another note about my website—if you have the site bookmarked on your computer, you will need to delete it, type in “lesliesyme.myctmh.com” and then re-bookmark the site again. For some reason the old links and bookmarks don't work anymore.

what are you?

I am PAPER. I thought this quiz was funny - What kind of scrapbook supply are you?

http://www.quizilla.com/quizzes/645550/what-scrapbooking-item-are-you

Let me know what you are.

Still . . .SICK

I thought we were better . . .again. We went to Joy School, then stayed for the inauguration. Megan had made egg-salad sandwiches, but my kids would not eat them. We had some time to kill before picking JD up, so we drove to a McDonalds with a Playplace and got some chicken nuggets. Miah wouldn't eat anything and put her head down on the table. I thought she had fallen asleep because she had been up late and I had to get her up early. Anyway, I call JD and tell him that she is tired and acting weird. Sure enough, I look up and she is throwing up. I cleaned her up as good as I could and we left. I went and picked up JD an hour early from work and we came home. She threw up 3 more times in the car.

This sucks! I'm ready for winter to be over and everyone to feel better! It has been going on almost two weeks!

Before and Now

Isaac being sick. His hair looks awesome since he has been laying around on it for 3 days. i did bath him on Tuesday after he threw up all over himself and me.

Isaac with his Christmas Cars Outfit

So we are all still sick. Here is a picture from last week. Isaac is sporting his new Cars/Mcqueen outfit. He saw it in the store when we got our pictures taken and wouldn't let go of it. I finally talked him into saying goodbye to him. I had to go back and get it. The McQueen on the jacket lights up when it is touched. He loves it and I could hardly get it off him.
He was not feeling well and has hardly let me put him down for 3 days now. I finally got him to go see his Dad and they looked cute cuddling, so I went to get some pictures and this is one that I got.

Sick Day

JD took a sick day today. None of us have been feeling well all weekend. I really haven't been feeling great for a week or so. I also feel really out of it. Sorry that I have not posted much, we just haven't been doing much.

I'm looking forward to my parents visit at the end of the month.

Thankful

Thankful- 1: conscious of benefit received 2: expressive of thanks 3: well pleased; glad

One of the blogs that I follow ( http://aliedwards.typepad.com) talked about one word representing your year. This year I am choosing the word THANKFUL. I'm choosing this because I feel like the past year I have just been wishing for more and have not been appreciative for what I have. I don't want to spend my time wishing for JD to get a teaching job, wishing to move home, wishing I did more. I still want those things to happen and will try to help them to happen, but I want to try and concentrate on the things that I do have and want to be appreciative of them.

So first off I want to thank you, my friends and family, for being there for me. These last three and a half years have been tough, but I am grateful that you have stuck by me. I'm thankful for the lessons that I have learned and the ones still to come.

Not Much Going On

We went to the mall on Friday and let the kids ride on a couple of rides. I thought these pictures of Isaac turned out really cute.
We really haven't been doing much. We have been trying to work on applications and portfolios. We enjoyed our time with JD. He went back to work today. We've been missing him!
I have been loving playing with my new canon camera! I really love it. It was my surprise on Christmas morning. JD let me open it first and had it charged and ready for me to use. Our old Kodak has been dying for a while now and I was just trying to nurse it along. A new computer and a new camera in the last six months has sure made me happier! We love having the DVD on our computer now. It has been fun being able to watch movies instantly on Netflix.

Happy New Year

Things did not turn out how we had expected them yesterday. Martha decided she needed to work until 5, so we could not leave until then. It was FREEZING! With the wind chills it was almost zero! It never really gets that cold here. Last, it was just one of those blah days for me.
With all of those things to consider, we did not go to Times Square last night. We talked to some of the youth that went last year and they got there to wait at 6 and still could not see anything. They were going this year at 3. I didn't want to stand around for 6-9 hours in the FRIGID COLD and still not be able to see anything.
We decided to go to dinner and a movie. By the time dinner was over, we just decided to go home and be with the kids.
I have been feeling blah lately. I'm not sure why. I think part of it is that I am missing our family and friends and the holiday traditions. Anyway, I need to get myself out this little Funk! (hehe)
Anyway, here is to a Healthy and Happy New Year!
