This weekend
Here are a few pictures from our weekend. They also had their first experience roller skating and hated it. Miah was a big boob and kept telling us it was "TOO WOBBLY!"

another transfer & Safe Kids Fair

Last weekend I met Tiscia and we went to the Safe Kids Fair at the Expo Center. It was really a lot of fun. I have a nice husband and have been craving some scrap time, so JD took the kids most of the day on Saturday and my two SILs came and we scrapped! I was pretty proud of myself. I got about 6 pages done, which is good for me since I am such a slow scrapper.
So JD got transferred again last week. Last Wednesday the big boss called him in and had a little meeting with him, along with two other supervisors. The big boss told him that he thought he would be careful and concscious enough to do a different job, so he is now in R&R (Research and Release). There are only two of them that do this in the whole warehouse. JD was fine with it as long it did't hurt his chances of being promoted. The big boss said that it wouldn't.

Transfer
JD had asked to be in Receiving because they were suppose to have the earliest times, which we were hoping to have JD home in time to be here for Miah from school. Today, he was transferred over to Quality Assurance because the supervisor there had been fighting for him to come over to her crew. We found out though that if you want to get promoted it sounds like they like it when you are in quality assurance. It also sounds like he may make more money in QA because they have to know more and be certified in more areas. There may even be a chance for him to work earlier. His one-on-one trainer told him today that in their warehouse they have a crew of QA that do cycle counts and work from 2 am-10:30 am. That would be awesome!
JD's cousins husband mom works for the art dept at SUU and he let us know that they will be hiring for next year. He also works with Joan (the people who have been publishing his b&w work) and see works with two professors there. JD was suppose to meet them, but their plans to come out to NY last year fell through. Anyway, with three possible connections we are hopeful that this may be the "IN" that we need to get some experience that he needs.
Just a quick update about JD.

Things have been so busy lately, that I don't update this as much. Sorry!
Miah had her parent teacher conferences last week. She is doing great and loves school. I went and helped with the class Valentines Party yesterday. It is fun to see her in that atmosphere.
Isaac is still being stubborn and won't potty train. We have tried treats, "shooting cheerios", putting him on every 15 min (then he just holds it), and everything we can think of. I keep telling him that if he doesn't start that they won't let him in school next year (for preschool).
We got our taxes done, which is always a relief. Now, just waiting for the refund. We are going to get a new mattress for us since we have never had a new one (we've used one from my parents that they didn't want any more) and pay off debt.

Lots to catch up on
First of all,JD GOT A JOB!!!
We are very excited that he now has a job, the only thing that is a bummer is that he does not start until Feb. 12. He is still applying to jobs that would be closer or make more money, but for now at least we will have some more money coming in!
We had a fun time on New Years going to our friends, Jeff and Tiscia. We ended up getting sick that next night and it was not fun at all. I started getting a cold, along with the flu bug. I'm over the flu, but still can not get over this cold.
Miah has been enjoying being back to school. They send a skills workbook home for the kindergarteners to work on at home with their parents, then pass it off at school. She has been working really hard and doing well. She hopes to be the first student to finish.
Isaac is making a lot of progress lately. He has started spelling his name, although one letter is not right, but it is cute, I don't have the heart to correct him (see video). He has been making progress with his letters, numbers and colors . . .finally! He is tricky because he has to want to do it otherwise he refuses. In other big new, he is no longer sucking his fingers. He hasn't been for weeks. It was nice because we were encouraging him not to, but he really just stopped on his own.
