Happy St Patrick's Day & "Who"riffic!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We had fun yesterday going to see Horton Hears A Who. That is one of Miah's favorite stories. Since seeing the poster up at the theater in Utah in December and screaming "Dr. Seuss, Mom!" she has been very patient in waiting for it to finally come out. Isaac did well except for about 10 minutes in the middle. He wandered around a little and then was fine the rest of the movie.

JD was released from teaching all of the youth Sunday School. Now, he is just the Young Men President. He teaches their class on Sunday and does Mutual every week. JD can now take Isaac to nursery during Sunday School and hopefully get him use to it so we can leave him in there.

Miah slept over at the Donegan's last night and was excited about that.

We heard from Arizona State this week and they ended up not getting the funding. We are still waiting to hear from others.

2 scrapbook pages

Here are a couple of scrapbook pages that I did today. When I do this it makes me want a bigger scanner since my pictures never look that great.
Have a good weekend. We will be home most of it because it is suppose to be rainy, possibly flooding some areas.

"Hey Guys"

"Hey Guys"... as Isaac would now say. Here are some pictures of my little climber. I've got to be more aware of where I put things now. He has decided now that nothing is impossible, even if he can't reach it. He went and got their rocking chair of out their room brought into the kitchen to get to my m&m's. Funny little boy.

We've all been a little sick this past week. The rest of us were sick earlier in the week and this weekend Miah got a fever. Everyone seems to be better now. Hope it stays that way!

We have also made some tentative plans for the summer. We are going to be going home for JD's family reunion in mid-June. After that I don't think I'm going to go back to New York. I'm going to stay and go the Wilson reunion in Colorado, hopefully do some camping and catching up with everyone for the next month and a half. We figure by the end of July we should know whether JD has a teaching job or if he will be moving back to Utah with us. Please keep him in your prayers that he gets a teaching job. Thanks!

Today we went to see They Might Be Giants. They did a free show at the Borders Bookstore at Columbus Circle to promote their new CD/DVD "The 123's". The kids had a lot of fun. Miah even had her CD signed by the Johns and their drummer after the show. This was the kids first concert!

Miah started reading & Twilight info

So today, Miah got it! She has been practicing her letters and asking us how we read. We have been working on it a little, but I haven't really concentrated on it because I thought she was too young, but she got it today. JD was reading "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss with her and they were sounding the words out. JD came to help me with something and Miah kept reading and started yelling at us that "she did it". JD went in with her and she pointed out and read pup, cup, tall, small, house and mouse! All by herself. We were all very excited with her. We told her that soon if she kept practicing she would be able to read to Isaac too.

Also, tonight I finally got around looking at Stephenie Meyer's website. I'm so excited for her next book in the Twilight series to come out in August. She also has an "adult" book coming out in May. She has written a little bit of a parallel novel to "Twilight" called "Midnight Sun" and if you are interested go to her website to download the first chapter (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/otherprojects_midnightsun.html)

some good news

Today JD got an email from Indiana State University and though he isn't in their small, select group to interview for the job he applied for, they were impressed with his work and handed it to the graphic design department there. JD said a lot of illustration programs dissolved into the graphic design departments at a some schools. Anyway, they were impressed with his work and would contact him shortly!
We are excited that to know that people are noticing his work, especially enough to pass it on to another department.
Please keep him in your prayers that somethings works out this year at any school!

Isaac's cookie face
Miah's cookie that she helped me bake and decorate
The homemade marshmellows that I made JD

We hope you had a Happy Valentines! Here are some of our pictures. Miah and I made sugar cookies to go with her valentines for her Joy School party. It was cute we were filling out the valentines and she had to fill out one for Emily and Megan (the other Joy School Teachers).

We got one more letter from a school. This one had 172 applicants. So we have heard from 6 schools out of the 55. Please keep JD in your prayers that he can find a job! We are moving this summer we just don't know where.

Isaac is really trying to say a lot more words. The newest words in the past couple of days that he has said are juice, blue, and amen. He gets a little frustrated because we don't always know what he is trying to say. He now pulls me wherever he wants me to go and points.

Miah is really into her letters. She has been working on the sounds and now we just got a new movie about putting the words together. She is making a lot of progress.
